Death toll in Zhejiang landslide climbs to 26
FIVE more bodies were found after a massive landslide buried dozens of homes in east China’s Zhejiang Province, bringing the death toll to 26, with 11 others still missing.
The landslide buried 27 homes in Lishui city late Friday night, leaving 38 missing. Only one person has been rescued.
Of the 26 dead, 17 have been identified, the city government said.
Rescue efforts have been hampered by rain, which is expected to continue throughout the week.
Experts have warned against further hazards for about 2,300 rescuers who are engaged in the search.
