Detained investor ‘group sex addict’
A CHINESE-AMERICAN startup investor and prolific microblogger in custody for using prostitutes is a “group sex addict” who liked to hire several women at a time, according to Beijing police.
Since mid-May Xue Biqun, — better known by his online name Xue Manzi — has paid for sex with at least 10 sex workers, officers said.
Xue is the co-founder of telecom firm UT Starcom, and has invested in other Chinese Internet startup firms, including PCPOP.com, an online electronic trading platform, and Creaty China, an Internet marketing company.
He has some 12 million followers on Weibo microblog.
The sex workers confirmed Xue, 60, who has lived in China since 2007, was a frequent client and dubbed him “Old Playboy” as he never told them his true identity.
They said he liked group sex with several women — insisting that they must be “young, slim and sexy,” Beijing Times reported yesterday.
Xue has told police that he was addicted to sex parties, Xinhua news agency reported.
The United States Embassy sent officials to see Xue on Tuesday, four days after he was caught with a 22-year-old prostitute surnamed Zhang in her rented apartment in the capital’s Chaoyang District.
Xue was among nine men and 18 women held in the area this month, after police received a tip-off.
Police said Xue was “very arrogant” when caught. He emphasized to police that he was a US citizen, asking them to inform his lawyer. Xue later said a 32-year-old woman surnamed Liang introduced Zhang to him this month, and he paid a total of 3,500 yuan (US$571.90) for sex with her on three occasions, police said.
Liang told police Xue repeatedly asked her to introduce him to several girls at a time.
One prostitute said she saw “an old man with a woman” when she entered room.
He told her: “You just stand there and watch us having sex,” Beijing Times reported.
Xue was reported to have had sex with three women the day before he was held.
