Detonator explosion injures 3
THREE people were injured after a detonator exploded yesterday in a court office in Guizhou Province.
Wu Yongfa, 74, set off a detonator in an office of the Yunyan District People's Court in Guiyang City, the provincial capital, injuring himself and two judges, a police spokesman said.
Motive unclear
Wu, who was not satisfied with the support his four adult children were providing him, asked the judges to summon his children to the court before the explosion, a court spokesman said.
It was not clear why Wu set off the detonator and police were investigating.
A previous court verdict ruled that each of his children should provide him 100 yuan (US$14.6) per month starting in May 2008. The children paid the support money.
Wu was previously sentenced to three years in prison for threatening his family.
