Developers cash on fake UN habitat credentials

DEVELOPERS of more than 200 residential complexes across the country touted their projects as winners of United Nations habitat award, which were actually bought from fake wards mills.

The UN habitat award is exclusively for the public welfare programs. Commercial property is no illegible for the award.

Developers are keen buying the fake award credentials to help boost the prices for their projects, People's Daily online reported today.

At least 200 commercial residential complexes across the country have bought the fake award credentials in the recent five years, the report said. The developers feel no shame of their cheating behavior. They bragged about it to the home buyers.

One developer in Beijing has put out a huge advertisement board saying his project has been awarded the UN Habitat Scroll of Awards, the report said.
