EIGHT people have been detained for carrying out a forced demolition in northeastern Harbin City on Wednesday night.
A dozen more suspects are still on the run.
Armed workers broke into the houses of six families around 10:30pm and forced them to leave. An excavator then pulled down the structures, Xinhua News Agency reported. Residents blamed a developer for the demolition.
