Doctor suspended for online posts

A 27-YEAR-OLD doctor was suspended after saying "I wish the patient will die after my shift" on her microblog, the Shantou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Guangdong Province said yesterday.

A microblogger named "snooky" wrote on t.sina.com.cn around midnight on February 16: "The patient's blood oxygen is falling. Probably I have to get up in the middle of night to pick up her body. I even have the funeral home's phone number on hand. But I still wish she could hang on tonight. It's so cold - not easy for me to have a warm sleep. I wish the patient will die after my shift."

This sparked a frenzy on the Internet and angry netizens tracked down "snooky" through her photos on the microblog. She turned out to be Li Conglin, a physician at the hospital.
