Dog wins fans for helping disabled owner
A dog has turned into an Internet celeb after passers-by posted its photos showing the canine companion helping its disabled master selling candied fruits on a snow-covered street in Changchun, a city in northeast China.
Netizens said the pair made a touching scene in the city this winter, caijing.com.cn reported today.
The vendor, whose name unknown, lost both lower legs and trained his dog, Da Huang, to pull a homemade cart to the street to sell candied fruits for a living. He said he didn't want to live on donations and government allowances.
His dog, akin to a Labrador retriever, would lie quietly beside him as he did his trade. Their photos have been retweeted thousands of times by users of Weibo, China's version of Twitter. Many expressed respect and sympathy for the dog and the vendor.
