Dozen injured in Foxconn Taiyuan factory riot
FOXCONN Technology Group, Apple's largest supplier, said more than 10 workers in its factory in Shanxi Province were injured in a fight early this morning.
Police in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi Province, said a dormitory dispute started last night and soon erupted into an all-out brawl with many workers joining.
Online pictures showed dormitory windows were smashed and cars were upturned. Riot police were mobilized to quell the violence in the factory and cordoned off the area.
The Taiwan company's spokesman Louis Woo said the situation in its Taiyuan factory has been brought under control, but production will be suspended today.
Police are still investigating the cause of the fight, local media reported.
