Drills test PLA troops’ operations
THE People’s Liberation Army yesterday began a joint military drill in Nanjing, capital of east China’s Jiangsu Province.
“Joint Action-2015B” was organized by the PLA Nanjing Military Area Command.
In a statement, it said the drill, which included personnel from the army, navy, air force and artillery, will test the troops’ joint operations using digitized commands and information.
Exercises included long-distance delivery, joint intelligence reconnaissance and joint computer-coordinated bombardments, the statement said.
They are expected to improve the troops’ capability of reacting in dangerous and changing circumstances, the statement added.
“Joint Action-2015B” is one of five similar drills involving more than 140,000 troops from more than 140 PLA regiments of various types.
Organized by the PLA Chengdu Military Area Command, “Joint Action-2015D” began on Monday in a plateau area in the southwestern province of Sichuan. It was the first of the five drills.
