Driving made easier
China had about 312 million people licensed to drive cars by the end of June, the Ministry of Public Security said yesterday, with about 271 million motor vehicles in use. The rapidly rising numbers pose many challenges, it said, and it is piloting a platform that uses websites, mobile apps and text messages to make it easier for drivers to, among other things, book driving tests and check out traffic conditions.
