Drug addict hacks his pregnant wife to death
A mother-to-be was hacked to death by her husband when she was pleading him to quit drugs. The woman in Changsha, capital of Hunan Province, was due to give birth in 19 days, the local Xiaoxiang Morning Post reported today.
Her husband surnamed Wang has been arrested on charges of intentional homicide. Prosecutors in the city's Tianxin District said the woman, Xiao Feng, had more than 100 knife wounds in her body.
Wang was a drug addict before Xiao Feng became pregnant and he had pledged to wean himself off drugs. But on July 7 he took drugs again in a friend's home and as his wife grumbled about his bad habit, he lost his mind and took a knife from the kitchen to hack his wife.
Wang said his wife still called him "hubby" while he hacked at her. After she died, he surrendered himself to police. "I was so mad and gave no thought to the consequence of my action," Wang said, adding that he also believed she had another lover.
