Drug alert after two patients die
CHINA'S Ministry of Health has ordered medical institutions to stop using a fake diabetes drug after two patients died.
The problem drugs, with batch number 081101, contain an illegal ingredient "glibenclamide" and were illegally using the brand "Tang Zhi Ning Jiao Nang," the ministry said. Two patients in the northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have died. The ministry also asked institutions to record cases where drugs with the same brand had been used and submit samples for examination.
