Drunk man detained for damaging 15 cars

A MAN who severely damaged 15 cars gave himself up a police station on Sunday after he recovered from a state of drunken anger, Xinmin.cn reported yesterday.
Putuo District police received a report around 2:10pm on Sunday that many private cars parked outside Exit 3 of Longde Road Station along Metro Line 11 were badly damaged.
The police found 15 vehicles damaged, with windows having varying degrees of damage and some parts knocked off.
The man, surnamed Li, did the damage with a brick and his fists and then escaped, according to witnesses and surveillance video.
Li went to a local police station that night and confessed he drank too much at noon and he lost his head after he couldn't retrieve the bus he drives because it was blocked by a car, police said.
Li has been detained by the police. Repairs to the cars is estimated to amount to more than 50,000 yuan (US$8,165).
