Duo captured for chopping boy’s hand off in Guangzhou
TWO suspects were caught by police for allegedly chopping off a 7-year-old boy’s hand a gruesome attack in Guangzhou City in south China’s Guangdong Province this morning, police said.
The attack happened around 7:30am when one of the suspects, the 41-year-old man surnamed Ma, sprayed liquid in the boy’s mother’s eyes, causing her unable to see, chopped the right hand off the boy and fled away, police alleged.
Police captured Ma around 1am in Huangpu District and seized the other man, 38-year-old man surnamed Wu later in Haizhu District.
Preliminary investigation found the suspects had financial disputes with the victim’s family. Further probe is ongoing.
The chopped off hand has been found by police. The boy is undergoing surgery to have it reattached, local newspaper New Express Daily reported.
