East China's largest furniture market on fire

A blaze broke out in a furniture market, said to be the largest in the East China region, this morning in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province.
The fire broke out about 7:30am in the Likou Town furniture market and by 9:30am, it was still not well controlled by fire fighters while the casualties remained unclear, China News Service reported.
The market covers 1.2 million square meters and consists of 38 furniture display halls. It also has a large space for furniture storage.
Police have cordoned off the complex and some nearby streets.
The large number of inflammable materials inside have created big challenges for the blaze to be effectively controlled, it's reported.
Witnesses said the fire might have been caused by some welding work this morning inside one of the stores. They reportedly said the fire started from a furniture workshop and spread to the warehouses nearby.
The exact cause of the fire is still being probed by fire authority.
The market is said to be the largest in this region while the second largest in the country.
