STARTING today, Shanghai-based China Eastern Airlines will send flights to Malta to pick up about 2,100 Chinese evacuated from Libya.
The airlines will send eight planes for the rescue, and 570 of the evacuees will be brought to Shanghai, the airline said last night.
Flights to Malta, in the central Mediterranean, take about 10 hours.
