Eight killed in firecracker blast in Hunan
EIGHT people, instead of previously reported six, were killed in a firecracker blast in central China's Hunan Province, local officials confirmed early today.
The blast occurred in Ningxiang County of Changsha, the provincial capital, at about 9:30 pm yesterday when a truck carrying fuses of firecrackers hit an electric wire pole and sparks from the fallen wire ignited the materials.
Several nearby houses were severely damaged while four people were injured, officials said.
