Eight miners killed in blast
THE bodies of eight miners were retrieved after a coal mine gas blast in central China's Hunan Province, local authorities said yesterday.
Rescuers recovered two bodies in the shaft on Friday afternoon, and the remaining six by 1:30am yesterday, according to the coal industry bureau of Hunan. The accident occurred at noon on Friday when the miners were working underground in the Xiangmei Group-owned Jiahe Coal Mine in Chenzhou City.
