Engineers Deployed To Dig Wells
CHINA'S Ministry of Land and Resources said over the weekend that it will assemble more than 1,100 engineers and workers from across the country to dig at least 1,600 wells in the country's drought-stricken southwest.
They'll arrive in the drought areas by Thursday, the ministry said. The wells will provide 200,000 cubic meters of drinking water per day for 2 million people and 1 million head of livestock, said the ministry.
