Ex-Party official charged over death of mistress
A FORMER district Party chief who allegedly killed his mistress in Wenzhou city of east China's Zhejiang Province will be charged.
Hangzhou police said they have concluded the investigation and referred the case to Hangzhou People's Procuratorate Office this morning which will file the charge, today's Legal Daily reported.
Xie Zaixing, 48, who had been Party boss of Wenzhou's Ouhai District for more than seven years, was arrested last month over a missing female official Shao Huiling, 33.
Xie allegedly told police that he killed Shao because he fell in love with another woman and Shao nagged him to end that relationship.
He said Shao was killed in Hangzhou and her body was thrown into the sea near Wenzhou.
Xie was sacked and expelled from the local committee of the National People's Congress.
Police said Xie might be involved in other economic crimes while a letter from a whistleblower alleged he was also tied up in illegal land transactions and selling official posts for bribes.
