Exam leaker identified
AN official in Hunan Province has been named as the source of a leak of test results for the 2012 national entrance examinations for postgraduate studies, the Ministry of Education announced yesterday.
Zhou Wensheng, a section chief of the educational examinations authority of Hunan's Xiangtan City, had stolen confidential test papers from a storage room. He copied and sold the papers for profit, said the ministry in a statement.
Police detained Zhou and another three suspects - two employees of Hunan's Central South University and a postgraduate student of Zunyi Medical College in southwest China's Guizhou Province.
The four suspects have been sacked and expelled from the Communist Party of China.
Suspected cheaters will be strictly tested in a second examination, and proven cheaters will see scores canceled, ministry officials said.
