Ex-commerce official expelled from Party

A former vice minister of the State Industry and Commerce Administration has been expelled from the Party for serious disciplinary violations, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said yesterday.
Sun Hongzhi, 50, misappropriated public funds, misused official cars, abused his position to seek favor for others in return for bribes and committed adultery, the watchdog said.
Evidence has been passed to police and prosecutors, it said, adding that an undisclosed sum of money has also been seized.
