Explosive left in litter bin causes blast at Qinghai airport

A blast took place in the Caojiabao Airport in Xining, provincial capital of northwestern China's Qinghai Province, at 1:45pm today.

The explosive was reportedly put inside a litter bin in a corner of the airport parking lot. No casualties were immediately reported. Some cleaning workers were at the scene at time of the blast.

Police arrived within about five minutes, and all vehicles on the site were removed while an investigation was launched.
