Expressway pileup kills 12 in S. China

TWELVE people were killed and another three were slightly injured in an expressway pileup early Saturday morning in south China's Guangdong Province, local authorities said.
The accident happened around 2am on the Yuegan Expressway, which links Guangdong's Heyuan City and Jiangxi's Ganzhou City, when a truck loaded with wood rolled over due to faulty brakes, causing a collision with the following three trucks, a mini bus and a car. The following five vehicles caught on fire after the collision.
The injured people have been hospitalized, and traffic will be resumed soon, authorities said.
