FTA on agenda
THE process of launching the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area is expected to start during next month’s APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Beijing, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said yesterday.
Member economies could reach important consensus on starting the FTA and send a clear message on promoting regional economic integration, he said.
With the theme of “Shaping the Future through Asia-Pacific Partnership,” a series of APEC meetings will be held from November 5-11 in Beijing. The 22nd leaders’ meeting will be held on November 10 and 11.
