Factory blast kills 6 workers in Hebei

SIX people died in a factory blast this morning in Pingshan County of northern Hebei Province.
The deadly explosion occurred at 7:12am in the factory of Sanhuan Manganese & Silicon Technology Ltd.
Two workers died of suffocation and heat at the scene and four others died in hospital after emergency treatment failed, Xinhua News Agency said.
Preliminary investigation showed that slag from a high-temperature furnace got into contract with drainage water and caused the explosion.
Investigators are still looking for more evidence at the accident site.
