Fake notes are just too good ...

HIGH quality fake 100 yuan notes with a face value of 30,000 yuan (US$4,725) have been seized in Guigang City in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Police said the counterfeit notes, starting with AZ88, WL15, TJ55 and YX86 are of extremely high quality, much higher than those with serial numbers starting with HD which circulated widely in China in 2009.
The notes are almost exactly the same as legal ones, down to the inclusion of security features such as water marks and metal strips, yesterday's Guangzhou Daily reported.
But the counterfeiters may have been too good at their job. Police said the notes could be identified by the naked eye because the colors were smoother and sharper than real notes.
Two alleged counterfeiters, surnamed Lin and Hong have been taken into custody while the police investigation continues, the report said.
In 2009, fake banknotes were found being produced in Guangxi's neighboring Guangdong Province. Police there confirmed that fake banknotes with serial numbers prefixed by "HD90" were made in the province's eastern region.
