Famed scriptwriter busted for taking methamphetamine

FAMED Chinese scriptwriter Chen Wanning, better known as Ning Caishen, has been detained for taking drugs, Beijing police said today.
Police detained Chen, 39, at an apartment on Gongti Road N. on Tuesday evening. They found methamphetamine, or ice, and some drug paraphernalia in a drawer at the apartment.
A urine test confirmed Chen had taken methamphetamine, police said.
Chen confessed he had taken drugs shortly before being caught, and that he had been taking ice since December last year, according to police.
He is best known for writing the sitcom "My Own Swordsman."
