Family ban part of anti-corruption drive
CHINA plans to keep suppliers out of government sourcing deals if they are relatives of officials involved in the talks to prevent corruption.
Public comments are invited on the move, introduced to clarify the Government Sourcing Law, today's Guangzhou Daily reported.
The law bans suppliers from dealing with government officials if they are blood related within three generations, according to Professor Xu Huandong of the Central University of Finance and Economics.
He praised the law as bringing China in line with international practice.
