Father detained for killing daughter's teacher, 2 others in bloody rampage

A FATHER has been detained for killing three people in the family of his daughter's teacher in revenge for a school incident that had escalated out of control in Renqiu City, north China's Hebei Province, Yanzhao Metropolis Daily reported today.

The 43-year-old suspect, Jin Qiuping, was apprehended by Renqiu police in a corn field at around 6am yesterday. His elder brother was also detained by police for concealing the murder and giving Jin money and clothes to escape, the newspaper said.

One of the victims, surnamed Yuan, was the primary school teacher of Jin's daughter. Yuan's husband and their eight-year-old daughter were also killed in the incident that happened at about 8:50pm last Friday.

Police said Jin had a quarrel with Yuan who asked Jin's daughter to go home after finding some red spots in her skin, suspecting the girl had an infectious disease on June 23.

Jin said he was agitated and had a fight with Yuan's husband who stabbed him in the right arm with a fruit knife and fled away.

On August 25, Yuan's husband turned himself in but refused to pay the compensation that Jin had requested, considering the amount too much, police said.

Out of revenge, Jin sneaked into Yuan's home, struck and killed her husband on the head with a steel rod. The murderer then killed Yuan and her eight-year-old daughter with a fruit knife and continued his killing spree at Yuan's parents' home.

Police said Yuan's mother suffered injuries to her head and her mother-in-law was stabbed in the neck. The two injured were rushed to the hospital while Yuan, her husband and daughter were all found dead in their home.

Police are still investigating the case.
