Fighter jet crashes at Xi'an aviation convention
A Chinese fighter jet crashed today while performing at the China International General Aviation Convention in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
The pilot was seen ejecting from the jet before the crash, but it's unknown whether the parachute fully opened. An ambulance rushed to the crash site to attend to him.
The accident happened at around 10am, about 2 kilometers to the west of the spectators' area. A massive explosion was heard as the jet hit the ground, People's Daily reported.
