Film boss loses prostitution appeal

A COURT in Beijing today upheld a 10-year prison term for a film studio owner who lured underage girls into prostitution.
Hu Weidong, the owner of Beijing Yuanyuan Film Studio, was found guilty of organizing prostitution and luring underage girls to an orgy. The court also fined him 50,000 yuan (US$7,234).
The case caused a stir on the Internet after two victims calling themselves "mean girls" blogged that Hu had persuaded them to have sex with bosses, and had videotaped the sex sessions.
Hu appealed against the first sentence saying he was only helping the girls to realize their dreams to be a star.
