Fire destroys 14 buildings in Fuzhou
FIRE crew in southeast China's Fujian Province has put out a big fire that ruined nearly 14 apartment buildings yesterday and forced scores of families to evacuate. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The fire started in one building in a crowded residential complex in Fuzhou, the provincial capital, at 9:20pm Sunday. It soon spread to adjacent buildings due to the wood structure of the buildings and strong winds.
Firefighters came shortly after receiving the report and residents managed to leave their buildings in time.
A senior resident, whose name was not revealed, said the fire broke out in a kitchen on the fourth floor. Authorities haven't confirmed the cause yet.
