Firefighter dies trying to save tot from burning flat

A FIREFIGHTER was killed on Friday while trying to save a toddler from a burning building in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, authorities said yesterday.
Officer Yang Kezhang was part of a team dispatched to tackle a blaze at an apartment block in the city of Yulin, the fire department said. As he was attempting to rescue a 2-year-old girl he slipped and fell to his death, it said, without elaborating. The child survived the incident unhurt, the department said.
