Fisherman shot by SK officer dies
A Chinese fisherman died yesterday after being shot with a rubber bullet by a South Korean officer trying to arrest him for alleged illegal fishing.
South Korea's coast guard said the man used a knife to keep officers away before being shot. It said he died later in a hospital in the coastal city of Mokpo.
South Korea has seized hundreds of Chinese ships fishing in the Yellow Sea. In April, a South Korean court gave a Chinese fisherman a 30-year prison term for fatally stabbing an officer.
