FIVE men in southwest Sichuan Province were detained for their involvement in a fight over a wage dispute in which one migrant worker was hacked to death and another seriously wounded.
Authorities of Dujiangyan City said they caught the suspects yesterday and were still investigating the incident, which led hundreds of migrant workers and local residents to rally on the street in protest, reported China Radio Station today.
The five men in charge of monitoring construction work of a local residential complex ran into conflict with two migrant workers after they refused to pay the worker?s wages on Monday.
Shortly after Lei?s death, hundreds of his co-workers stepped onto the street, blocking Erchuan Road, a highway one-hour-drive from the provincial capital of Chengdu.
