THE Palace Museum in Beijing, also known as the Forbidden City, yesterday introduced an 80,000 daily visitor limit. It also now requires travel agencies to book tickets online and requires ID to be provided at the time of purchase. The new measures are part of the government’s efforts to better protect the UNESCO World Heritage Site. About 50,000 people visited the museum yesterday.
