Foreign ministers agree to meet

CHINA and Japan yesterday agreed to restart mutual visits of their foreign ministers and to hold high-level economic dialogue next year, a Japanese government spokesman said.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe also agreed that the two countries will work toward an early implementation of communication mechanism between their military forces, Japan’s Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Koichi Hagiuda told reporters following a meeting between Li and Abe in Seoul.

Li told Abe that the two nations must properly handle sensitive issues in political relations under the spirit of looking at history squarely and taking history as a mirror, and keep a firm grasp on the overall development of their strategic relationship.
