Forget about love, it's money girls want
MONEY counts when it comes to choosing a husband. At least for the college students in south China's Guangzhou City where up to 60 percent of them said in a survey that they wanted to marry into a rich family.
The survey by Guangzhou Women's Federation covered 992 female students at 10 local universities from January to March, yesterday's Guangzhou Daily reported.
Second choice were men with the potential to become successful, followed by those with stable jobs.
About 30 percent of the girls agreed they could more easily improve their life by marrying well than developing a career of their own.
But 10 percent of the respondents said they could lead an easy life by being a mistress to a married man.
Most of the girls believed that marriage was not necessarily related to love, the survey indicated.
