Former HK leader Tsang given bail
A Hong Kong court yesterday granted bail to former leader Donald Tsang, who was jailed in February for 20 months for misconduct in public office, broadcaster RTHK reported.
The 72-year-old arrived in court from hospital, where he had been taken earlier this month after complaining of breathing problems.
In February, a jury ruled that Tsang concealed private rental negotiations with property tycoon Bill Wong Cho-bau while his government discussed and approved a broadcasting license for a radio company in which Wong was a major shareholder.
Jurors failed to return a majority verdict on a charge related to bribery, with a re-trial tentatively set for September.
