Former Qinghai official sentenced to life for corruption

THE former Party chief of Xining City in northwest China’s Qinghai Province was sentenced to life imprisonment for taking bribes and embezzlement.

Mao Xiaobing was found accepting bribes worth nearly 105 million yuan, according to a verdict given by Lanzhou City Intermediate People’s Court in neighboring Gansu Province today.

He was expelled from the CPC and dismissed from public office in July 2014, following an internal graft investigation by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
