Former Wuxi Party boss probed for corruption
THE former Party chief of Wuxi, an industrial city in eastern Jiangsu Province, has been expelled from the Party for serious discipline violations, today's 21st Century Business Herald reported.
An unidentified source told the newspaper that Mao Xiaoping, former Party secretary of the CPC Wuxi Committee, has been stripped of his Party membership.
Mao was put under "double designation" -- an investigative procedure under which a Party official is ordered to answer allegations of corruption at a designated time and place -- last December, the newspaper was told.
Mao allegedly accepted bribes worth 577,000 yuan (US$91,600) and had affairs with several women, the report said.
