A former senior political adviser from central China鈥檚 Hunan Province stood trial yesterday on charges of accepting more than 13.56 million yuan (US$2.18 million) in bribes.
Yang Baohua, 68, former vice chairman of the provincial advisory body, is accused of helping others with contracts and land transfers between 1996 and 2014 when he held various city and provincial positions.
