Former vice governor of Hainan expelled from CPC
Former vice governor of south China's Hainan Province Ji Wenlin was expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) for "severe violation of disciplines and laws", according to a decision approved by the CPC Central Committee.
"Investigations show that Ji took advantage of his posts to seek benefits for others, demanded and received a huge amount of bribes, and committed adultery," said an official CPC statement released Wednesday.
Ji's above-mentioned acts led to severe violation of disciplines, and taking bribes is a suspected crime, it said.
According to the statement, the CPC Central Committee approved a decision to expel Ji from the Party.
The State Council, or China's cabinet, approved a decision to dismiss Ji from public office, it said, adding that his alleged criminal issues and clues have been transferred to judicial organs for further management.
