Former vice mayor of Shenzhen expelled from Party for corruption

A former Shenzhen vice mayor has been expelled from the Party for taking huge bribes and seeking profits from others, the city's Party disciplinary watchdog said.
Liang Daoxing, 64, has been transferred to judicial departments for a criminal investigation after his "severe" violations were confirmed on December 1, Nanfang Daily reported today.
He was linked to murky accounts when the city held the World University Games in 2011, which lost 12.78 billion yuan (US$2.05 billion), Beijing News reported.
Hong Kong media reports claimed Liang accepted bribes of up to 680 million yuan, owned 49 properties and six factories in Dongguan City in Guangdong Province. He was also said to have sexual relationships with several renowned female celebrities.
Authorities haven't confirmed the media allegations.
