Four HK locals breaking into PLA barracks deny charges
Four Hong Kong locals who illegally forced into the headquarters of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Garrison in December last year appeared in Hong Kong's Eastern Magistrates' Courts today and denied charges of " entering into restricted area without permission".
The defendants, three males and one female, were bailed out by paying HK$500 (US$64.4) each.
In Hong Kong, the maximum penalty for breaking into a military base is two years' imprisonment and a fine of HK$500.
The magistrate arranged the pretrial review on February 27, and before that time the defendants are not allowed to contact with the prosecuting witnesses who were on guard at PLA barracks on December 26.
The four local residents violated the Public Order Ordinance of Hong Kong and the Garrison Law which prohibit entry into the PLA Garrison's barracks without permission.
