Four dead, two injured in northwest China traffic accident

FOUR people were killed when a van rear-ended a trailer in northwest China's Shaanxi Province on Friday.

The accident happened at 8:50 p.m. Friday on an expressway linking Inner Mongolia and Guangdong. The van, with six on board, hit the trailer and was serious damaged, said Dong Guoxiang, head of Yulin fire brigade in Shaanxi.

It took rescuers one and half hours to free the trapped passengers, four of whom were pronounced dead on the spot while the other two were taken to hospital.  Both are in a critical condition.
