Fuel-leak scare on Shenzhen flight
A SHENZHEN Airlines plane from Beijing made an emergency landing at an airport in central China on Sunday after fuel leaked from one of its engines, the company said yesterday.
The Boeing 737, flight ZH9852, took off from Beijing at 2:30pm and made a safe landing at 3:45pm at Zhengzhou airport, in Henan Province, after the crew discovered that the left engine was leaking oil.
The landing did not cause damage to the plane and none of the 119 passengers onboard was injured, the airline said.
After an initial examination, maintenance workers said a problem with the engine's seal ring caused the fuel leak.
Most of the passengers have reached the original destination of Shenzhen, while a number of others transferred to other routes yesterday, according to the company.
