Fugitive nabbed after returning to China
CHINESE police yesterday captured one of the country’s 100 most wanted economic fugitives who first fled overseas 14 years ago.
Dai Xuemin, the former manager of a trust and investment company in Shanghai, was apprehended in an undisclosed location in China, the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said in a statement. He is accused of embezzling 11 million yuan (US$1.8 million). He fled the country in 2001, but returned recently using a fake ID and foreign passport.
