Fugitives urged to surrender to Beijing police by Sept 30
OFFENDERS on the wanted list of Beijing police will be given lenient punishment or be pardoned if they surrender to the police before September 30, Beijing Public Security Bureau announced yesterday.
The decision was jointly made by the Beijing Public Security Bureau, Beijing Supreme People's Court and Beijing People's Procuratorate.
Wanted fugitives of various crimes, including homicide, robbery and kidnapping, are told to surrender to Beijing police before September 30 and their surrender will be considered in court ruling, the Beijing Times reported.
Beijing police will post the announcement in all public venues across the capital city in recent days to make it known to all the people. Beijing has about 4,000 criminals on the wanted list and plans to cut the number by half within one year.
